The City of Knox is accepting applications for the 50/50 sidewalk program.
The city will split the cost of new sidewalks with qualified owners. Requests must be submitted to the mayor’s office by 4 p.m. CT on Friday, May 13 and will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis until available money runs out.
Bids will be opened and reviewed during the Knox Board of Works meeting Wednesday, May 25.
Street Superintendent Jeff Borg will measure and inspect the request and either approve or disapprove the work order. After a bid is awarded to a contractor, the property owner will be notified of the cost. Once the work is done the street superintendent will inspect it and approve final payment to the contractor.
