Construction work is ongoing on the new Vocational Wing on the campus of the Knox Community School Corporation, according to Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart.
“The block walls are up on the exterior and now they are laying the brick on the outside of the walls weather permitting,” said Dr. Reichhart. “Obviously, we’ve had a lot of rain and it’s holding us up a little bit with the weather that we’re having. Things are on schedule and everything right now is going fine with the Vocational Wing.”
Dr. Reichhart believes that the construction deadline date in October will still be met even with weather and material delays.
The Vocational Wing, which is being constructed off of the east side of the Knox High School facility, will feature an agricultural classroom and lab, a welding classroom and lab, and a robotics classroom and lab.
The project will be paid for from leftover bond money, and federal ESSER II and ESSER III funding, with no impact to taxpayers.
