The Culver Community School Board members reviewed bus bids when they met Monday night.
Superintendent Karen Shuman explained that three bids were received to replace two 2010 school buses. Bluebird bid about $234,000 for two new buses, while IC Collins bid about $222,000. Thomas Transportation bid about $232,000.
Shuman recommended approving the lowest bid submitted by IC Collins which was unanimously accepted by the school board.
Additionally, Treasurer/Business Manager Casey Howard commented that the State Board of Accounts previously notified the school that the entity is far behind on audits and outside auditing companies have been hired to help take on the process from the state in some cases. Howard said notification was received this week that the corporation will be audited by an outside company, Crow Accounting, and the cost will be similar to what is paid to the state. She said the audit will be conducted soon and only one year will be reviewed this year.
