Oregon-Davis Superintendent Bill Bennett updated the school board members last week on the status of finding a new Junior/Senior High School principal.
He said nine candidates have applied for the position.
“After Spring Break we will start screening some of those candidates and hopefully have a recommendation for a new Junior/Senior High School principal,” commented Bennett.
Bennett added that the position will be open until it is filled. The job opening was posted in early March.
The board accepted the resignation of Junior/Senior High School Principal Bettie “BJ” Awald last week. She has served in that capacity since March of 2020, and had been at Oregon-Davis Schools since 1997. Awald will embark as the new Director of Guidance at Plymouth Community School Corporation in mid-summer.
