The Oregon-Davis School Board reviewed information about the purchase of MacBooks for staff members during their Monday night meeting.
Superintendent Bill Bennett stated that the board approved new devices for students last month and now it is time to look at computers for K-12 staff members.
“We’d be looking at purchasing approximately 85 computers and various accessories from our pigtails to be able to adapt to our projectors and to Apple TVs where we can project to those wirelessly, as well as just other power adapters or whatnot,” said Bennett. “The grand total for the upgrade including insurance and extended warranty is $90,648.”
Bennett suggested that the board finance the purchase for three years with a 3.25 percent interest rate. He said financially it would be the best option, especially looking at certain projects being considered in the near future.
The board approved the purchase with a unanimous vote.
