The Pulaski County Commissioners appointed a new Veterans Service Officer during their meeting Monday night.
Commission President Chuck Mellon announced that William Walker was recommended as the next Veterans Service Officer.
“He lives in the county and was in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. He served two terms in Vietnam,” stated Mellon.
The commissioners unanimously appointed Walker to the position.
The commissioners thought they had a candidate in March, but that person was offered a better position within the same capacity and decided to move in that path.
Pulaski County had been without a Veterans Service Officer since December.
