The Starke County Council members reviewed several documents this week pertaining to the NextEra Dunns Bridge solar array project on several parcels in Railroad Township that are located south, west and north of San Pierre.
A document confirming the establishment of the over 1,000 acres for development as an Economic Revitalization Area for purposes of tax abatement and the granting of assessed-value deduction was in the packet, as well as the tax abatement schedule through 2044, and an Economic Development Agreement. As part of the Economic Development Agreement, the county will be getting approximately $500,000 per year from NextEra for 20 years.
There were no public comments given during a public hearing concerning these documents during the council meeting Monday evening.
The council members approved the documents with a unanimous vote.
