The Culver Unsafe Building Board voted Tuesday night to affirm an order to remove a marquee over the Culver Movie Theater building on Lakeshore Drive that has been deemed unsafe by Building Commissioner Chuck Dewitt. He stated that it is starting to turn downward which indicates a structural issue.
The ticket booth was also ordered to be boarded up as there is damage to the windows and it appears entry was gained into the facility.
Additionally, the Culver Town Council members unanimously approved a motion Tuesday night to provide extra safety in that area until that work can be done. They authorized three temporary no parking signs in front of the theater and for the Utility Department to create a safe walkway in the street fashioned with barricades so residents can have a safe pathway in that area.
