Over 21 percent of eligible voters cast ballots in Pulaski County in the May Primary Election Tuesday night.
On the Republican ticket, Incumbent Pulaski County Clerk JoLynn Behny defeated Patricia (Patty) Sullivan, while Republican Incumbent Pulaski County Assessor Lorena H. (Holly) Vanderaa defeated Shianne M. Zellers. In the Pulaski County Commissioner District 3 race, Republican Incumbent John Mike McClure received the most votes over challengers Ronald (Rudy) DeSabatine and Laura Wheeler.
In the Pulaski County Council District 1 race on the Republican ticket, Bradley J. Bonnell defeated Stephanie M. Wheeler, and in the Pulaski County Council District 4 race, it was Michael Troy (Big Mike) Tiede winning the seat over William (Bill) Boehning.
For Monroe Township Trustee, it was Michelle D. Schmicker over Debra Winter, and for Salem Township Trustee it was Michael (Mike) Gayer who received the most votes over opponents Jay Johnson and Sara Strus.
Two seats were open for Winamac Town Council At Large where Alvin R. Parish and Danyelle Weaver both received 151 votes while James (Jim) W. Watkins received 149 votes.
Four Republican candidates out of eight were chosen as State Convention Delegates. It was Douglas L, Gutwein, Daniel P. Murphy, JoLynn Behny, and Lorena H (Holly) Vanderaa who received the most votes.
In the State Representative District 16 race, Kendall Culp received the most votes in Pulaski County followed by Barbara Neihouser and Bryan Washburn.
Some races coming up this fall include Pulaski County Coroner, Pulaski County Council District 3, Monroe Township Board, Salem Township Board, and Tippecanoe Township Board.
