The Starke County Commissioners took action Monday night to unanimously approve a letter of support toward Starke County Court Services’ request for grant funding for Fiscal Year 2023.
According to Starke County Court Services Director Shawn Mattraw, the Indiana Department of Corrections grant application includes funding requests for Starke County Community Corrections in the amount of $321,302, Starke Circuit Court Pretrial Probation in the amount of $66,150, and the Starke County Justice Center’s Jail Treatment Program in the amount of $89,370.98. The total amount in grant requests this year is $476,822.98.
Mattraw noted in a press release that the Starke County Community Corrections Advisory Board previously approved three grant applications and budgets for submittal to the Indiana Department of Corrections.
The grant deadline is May 6.
