Donations to the Community Services of Starke County food pantry are needed to help Starke Country residents in need.
Executive Director Cindy Benke told WKVI News that the need has gone up and donations have gone down in these economic times. There were 247 pounds of food taken in in the month of June and over 3,000 pounds were distributed to those who rely on the service.
She said spaghetti sauce is needed, along with macaroni and cheese, cereal, and a host of other non-perishable food items. Benke noted that monetary donations can always be used so items can be purchased at the Food Bank where the funds can be stretched a little further.
