The Eastern Pulaski School Board members took time Monday night to review information in a Secured School Safety Grant application.
Superintendent Dara Chezem said plans are to upgrade the camera system and install vape detectors at the school corporation.
“The exciting feature with the camera system is that it would allow us to share access with the police and Sheriff’s Department, and it would allow us for quicker location of individuals on the films by having an ability for facial recognition.”
If awarded, the grant would pay up to 50 percent of the total cost which is about $133,000.
Chezem said the board approved the application and gave authorization to purchase the upgraded system if awarded the grant.
