The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum will offer Father’s Day excursion trains during this weekend’s Mint Festival.
The train rides will take passengers in open-air sightseeing, or vintage cars round trip from the depot through the countryside to the Kankakee River at English Lake and back, which takes about 45 minutes.
The trains depart at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19. Ticket prices are $14 for adults, $10 for children ages 3-15, and children under the age of 3 are free. It is recommended that tickets be purchased ahead of time online at www.hoosiervalley.org as seating is limited.
The museum features rich railroad history for visitors to enjoy, including one of the largest museum collections of working railroad signals and a restored WWII Pullman Troop Car.
Regular Saturday train excursions continue through the end of September with special trips planned in October, November and December.
