The North Judson-San Pierre School Board approved Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin’s contract for the next three years.
The contract is for 2022-2023 through 2024-2025. The basic salary in the first year will be $110,000 with a $2,000 increase in both of the two years that follow. The board will pay for the cost of health insurance, long-term disability insurance, term life insurance, employee ISTRF, the contribution of the Indiana State Teacher’s Retirement Fund, 403b Annuity, auto expenses and IRS mileage, and Social Security. The superintendent would also receive 25 days of paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, and 15 personal and sick days per year.
Although it was not required, the school board opened a second public hearing to take comments on the contract prior to approval, but there were no additional comments.
Dr. Zupin said contracts were also approved for Elementary School Principal Dr. Peter Morikis and Junior/Senior High School Principal Brian Orkis.
Dr. Zupin commented, “Dr. Morikis was a temporary principal last year and so he would be awarded a two-year regular principal contract that would be for $86,000. Mr. Orkis was increased to $96,000 and he was receiving $93,000.”
Other salaries were approved for the technology director, food service director and business manager/treasurer.
Additionally, the Non-Certified employee hourly pay schedule and transportation pay schedule were discussed.
Dr. Zupin continued, “That was adjusted to ensure that we were competitive with other schools and that we were really trying to sustain workers just as everybody else is.”
All salaries were approved by the board.
