The Oregon-Davis School Board members reviewed several recommendations during their meeting last week concerning summer projects.
Superintendent Bill Bennett said more carpeting will be installed at the Elementary School.
“The first big project that was approved was installing new carpet in about half of our Elementary School,” explained Bennett. “We did about half of it last year. This will get us really close to wrapping up that building.”
Bennett said 3M security window tinting will also be installed this summer in the entryways on the buildings and other areas around campus.
“The 3M security film basically is a film that would help catch a bullet if it were shot out, or it helps with glare. It also helps with people being able to see out but not necessarily in.”
Bennett added that another summer project this year will involve the installation of concrete and the removal of some asphalt around the Elementary School.
Bennett continued, “Some sections of the back apron at the Elementary School are asphalt and some are concrete. Wherever the concrete and asphalt come together they don’t really blend really well so we want to get it all uniform – less tripping hazards. Some of the concrete will stay, but wherever there is asphalt it will be replaced with concrete.”
The school board members approved the recommendations as presented regarding these projects.
