Pulaski County Commissioners Approve Technology Purchase for New Circuit Courtroom

Pulaski County Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer presented the commissioners with an estimate from DeGroot Technology for technology needs in the new Circuit Courtroom in the Justice Center.

Origer said the $20,000 cost would include audio/visual equipment, wiring, internet service, cameras, microphones, and other items.  County Attorney Kevin Tankersley asked that larger TVs be considered.  They should be bigger than 50-inch screens due to the size of the courtroom and documents that would be shown in certain court settings.  Origer said he would talk to Judge Mary Welker about that issue.

Origer said there is enough in the construction budget to cover the cost and could be paid for with those funds, even though it is not part of the construction process.

Commissioner Maurice Loehmer said this purchase was a necessity to complete the necessary functions the court.

The commissioners approved the estimate with a unanimous vote.
