The Town of Winamac will soon be discussing the addition of a School Resource Officer with officials at the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation.
Winamac Town Manager Brad Zellers told WKVI News that the Winamac Police Department would like to put a School Resource Officer at the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation with the cost split between the town and the school corporation. The idea came up during Monday night’s Winamac Town Council meeting.
The Winamac Town Council took the information under advisement until a meeting could be held between the entities. Zellers said federal money may soon be available to fund such a position which could be a discussion topic during that meeting.
