Several candidates have filed to fill vacancies on the November General Election ballot in Starke County. The deadline to do so was July 5 at noon CT.
Republican Lynn Vessely filed for North Bend Township Trustee. Vessely will face Democrat Carol Johnson on the November ballot.
Republican Bethany Laizure and Republican Matthew Moore filed for Oregon Township Advisory Board. They join Richard (Rick) Minker for the three available seats on that board.
Republican Larry Jernas and Democrat Rebecca Ferch filed for Davis Township Advisory Board. They join Republican Robert Ferch and Rebecca (Becky) Pflugshaupt on the ballot for three available seats in that race.
Democrat Robin Latimer filed for Davis Township Trustee. Latimer will face Republican Tiffany Nagai on the November ballot.
Republicans Sam Byer and Sandra Bennett filed for Center Township Advisory Board. They join Democrat Dorine Godinez on the ballot for the three available seats on the board.
Republican Ralph (Tim) Cummins filed for Wayne Township Advisory Board. He joins Democrats David C. Altman, Alicia (Amidei) Collins, and Joe Griffo, Sr. on the ballot for three available seats in that race.
Democrat Robert Olejniczak filed for Washington Township Advisory Board. He joins Democrat Teresa G. Sitek and Republicans Anthony L. Black and Kimberly S. Temple for three seats on that board.
Democrat August Eckert filed for Railroad Township Advisory Board. Eckert joins Democrats Joe Krzyzanowski and Jennifer C. Redlin on the ballot.
Candidates wanting to file for school board seats may begin to do so starting July 27. The filing period ends August 26 at noon local time.
