The North Judson Town Council members are reviewing water and sewer rates which may involve a public hearing soon.
Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe said the rates are being looked at to see if any adjustments need to be made to fulfill obligations concerning water and sewer bonds for recent projects. He noted the council is also reviewing other rates for possible adjustment including tap fees, use of the jet vac, and labor fees.
“A lot of those haven’t been looked at in five years and some of them eight or ten years,” said Rowe. “That involves a public hearing and with the sewer and water rate study ongoing right now the idea was to put that all into one process, one public hearing, one adoption meeting, and then implement that into our town code. We’re looking at middle-to-late August to get all of that stuff together and passed.”
The council members are also reviewing other aspects of the town code including property maintenance improvements.
