The Pulaski County Highway Garage will be looked at by engineers next week to assess the roof and provide reports on what will need to be done.
The roof has been leaking for some time in several areas, with water causing damage to tiles and dripping into where government leaders currently hold their meetings.
Pulaski County Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer told the council members this week that a representative from RC Engineering will be doing a structural assessment to look at the trusses and assess whether or not more than just a new roof will be necessary.
The anticipated estimate from Tonn and Blank Construction to have the roof fixed was set at $200,000.
In a previous meeting, the council approved the $200,000 additional appropriation with a majority vote.
The $200,000 cost will come out of the Pulaski County Highway Department’s funds.
