The Starke Taskforce for Overdose Prevention, in partnership with Alcohol and Addictions Resource Center, is hosting free community Narcan training sessions in Knox Wednesday, August 31.
Participants will be trained in how to use Narcan, an opiate antidote which reverses an opioid overdose. Opioids include heroin, fentanyl, methadone, and prescription pain pills like OxyContin, Percocet, and Vicodin.
Training will include instruction on how to use the Narcan Nasal Spray and participants will receive Narcan to take from the sessions.
The training sessions are at 9 a.m. and noon CT. Those interested in attending can take part in either session at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox. Register by following this link, or call 574-234-6024.
