A new book vending machine was unveiled and dedicated Monday night at the Oregon-Davis Elementary School.
Superintendent Bill Bennett said Farm Fertilizers was instrumental in donating the book vending machine in memory of Hobie Martin.
“That vending machine will be able to be used kind of as a student incentive thing,” explained Bennett. “When kids are doing good deeds around the school they’ll get a special gold coin that will only work in the vending machine.”
The late Hobie Martin was a teacher at Oregon-Davis and an advocate for reading. Martin also initiated an Investment Income Account which will help purchase books for the vending machine.
