Residents, business owners and organization representatives in Starke County are encouraged to take a survey to help determine the need for local nice, clean affordable accommodations.
Starke County Economic Development Foundation officials believe that it is critically important to the local economy and tourism in Starke County for these amenities to be available.
During a Knox City Council meeting in July, Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Lisa Dan explained that the person in charge of development and new construction of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. believes a new 60-room hotel would be a good fit for the area and suggested doing a feasibility study. The City of Knox and the Starke County Convention and Visitors Commission funded the feasibility study.
The survey link is available here . Responses need to be submitted by Friday, August 19. Foundation officials will be meeting with the consultant next week to put the data together and to tour the county to show what the county has to offer.
