The Starke County Election Board members are looking to move an early satellite and Election Day voting site to another location.
Clerk Bernadette Welter Manuel previously explained that voting at the Koontz Lake Association Building has worked in the past, but there are parking lot issues which includes drainage and general parking problems.
Manuel said the board is working with Koontz Lake Missionary Church officials to move the early satellite voting and Election Day voting to that location at State Road 23 and Cherokee. The church has more room for parking and there is more room for people to wait in the mandatory chute area outside the building. Beyond that, it meets the code requirements to host voting there.
Manuel hopes to get a definite answer prior to the start of the early voting process in October.
It has already been determined that other early voting locations will be at the North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department and at the Starke County Courthouse.
