The Hope Restored Recovery Home in North Judson is the recipient of a $21,000 grant from the Starke County Community Foundation (SCCF).

The grant will assist Hope Restored officials in opening the doors to the facility after years of planning.

The home in downtown North Judson will be a transitional living facility for up to 10 men and will focus on helping individuals on the road to recovery from substance abuse by taking part in structured scheduling, therapeutic programming, self-help meetings, drug testing, and biblical devotions.

A Harvest Hustle 5K walk, run, and dog walk fundraiser is planned for October 1 at the corner of Lane and Sycamore Streets in North Judson.  The money raised from that event, along with the Starke County Community Foundation’s grant, will sustain Hope Restored’s first five months of operation.  There is a pre-registration cost of $30 for participants aged 12 and older.  Kids 12 and younger will be $20.  There will be a $5.00 additional cost if registration is done on the day of the event which begins at 8 a.m. CT.  Sign-up by September 16 to get a t-shirt. Music and food will be offered following the Harvest Hustle.
