
The Wanatah Scarecrow Festival begins today!
The harvest contest is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the pork chop dinner is today from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., the flag raising at 5 p.m., music from the Acousticats featuring the Martin Boys at 7 p.m., and the Harvest Contest award announcements at 8:30 p.m. CT.
Activities continue Saturday with the 3K walk and 5K run at 8 a.m., the Scarecrow Scamper for kids ages 2-9 at 9:30 a.m., the parade at 11 a.m., the Nelson’s Chicken sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tri-Township Consolidated School Corporation, the tractor show at 11:30 a.m., the Hot Wheels Race of Champions from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., bingo at the American Legion Post #403 from noon to 4 p.m., scarecrow sculpting from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the cutest baby contest from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and music by Mountain Laurel at 7 p.m. CT.
Sunday’s activities include the pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the non-denominational church service at 10 a.m., music from the Great Lake Rovers at 11:15 a.m. and Homemade Jam at 12:15 p.m., scarecrow sculpting is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the Scarecrow Queen contest at 1 p.m., a cornhole tournament at 1 p.m., and closing ceremonies at 3 p.m. CT.
