The Starke County Park Board provided an update on the Bass Lake pier situation during their meeting on November 9.
DNR officials made the Starke County Park Board aware of issues with the north and south piers at Bass Lake. The DNR report stated the south pier along with parts of the north pier needed to be removed. Those issues were brought up at a previous meeting and the board decided to have the piers in question removed.
The board announced they will be submitting the remaining pictures to the DNR in order to show their compliance. It was mentioned the DNR said it takes 2 to 3 months for a response and as long as the pictures are submitted now, it will be no problem.
