Knox Community School Board Discusses Three Hour Delay Option

The Knox Community School Board discussed potentially adding a three hour delay schedule during their meeting Tuesday night.

Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart brought the idea to the attention of the board members. He said if the board would be willing to consider a three hour delay they would not need to cancel the entire school day.

As of right now, anything past a two hour delay requires the school to cancel and tack on any missed days at the end of the second semester. Dr. Reichhart stated a three hour delay would allow an extra hour for the weather to hopefully clear and also allow any potential road clearing to be done. He stated the school would then stay in session one hour longer than normal to make up time lost in the morning. As long as a school only misses two hours, the state can categorize it as a school day.

Students who https://davidicke.com/xanax-online/ participate in sports would also have their practice schedule adjusted to account for the potential three hour delay.

The board took the three hour delay option under advisement and plan to discuss it further in a future meeting.
