It was announced during the Knox City Council meeting last week the opioid litigation settlement has been received.
City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok said the settlement comes in two different ways, restricted and non-restricted. He said restricted funds are used strictly for what is allowed. Non restricted funds may be used how the city sees fit.
Mayor Estok announced $37,531.30 has been received as restricted funds. Non-restricted funds received were in the amount of $16,084.84. He went on to say for 18 years the City of Knox will receive funding. He added it won’t always be the same amount each year. He said the total restricted amount Knox will receive over the 18 years will be just over $177,000 total.
