Pulaski County Republican Party Caucus Called to Fill Coroner Vacancy

A Pulaski County Republican Party Caucus is scheduled for Thursday, December 15 to fill the vacancy of Pulaski County Coroner for the four-year term starting January 1, 2023.

Republican Jon Frain was elected to the position in the November General Election, but Republican Party Chairman Dan Murphy stated that Frain has indicated that he has opted not to serve that term.

Frain had resigned from the position earlier this year, but his name could not be removed from the General Election ballot as that particular deadline passed at the time of his resignation. An earlier Caucus selected Jennifer Johns to fill the remainder of the term that ends December 31 of this year.

Pulaski County Precinct Committeemen will select the next candidate. To be considered to fill the vacancy, a candidate must reside in Pulaski County, be a Republican in good standing according to Party Rules, and voted a Republican Party ballot in the last two Primary Elections.  A Declaration of Candidacy and Statement of Economic Interest must be filed with the Pulaski County Clerk and with the Republican Party Chairman no later than 4:59 p.m. ET on Monday, December 12.

The December 15 Caucus will be held at 5 p.m. ET at the Star City Community Center, in the small building, at 2550 E. Key Street in Star City.
