A new position and salary was created for a park/utility employee during Monday night’s North Judson Town Council meeting.
The North Judson Utility Department has been conducting interviews and a couple job offers have been extended for a new position that would take place of the park caretaker. The responsibilities proposed include ground maintenance and utility.
A salary recommendation of up to $20 per hour, excluding overtime to be paid bi-weekly, was motioned and approved by the council. The parks/utility employee can also earn an additional $0.75 per hour by obtaining certain licenses for the job. Utility employees can also qualify for an additional $0.50 per hour by becoming a certified “pesticide applicator.”
The Utility Department would like to begin the training of new employees in February.
