The time for candidates to file for office came to a close Friday at noon CT in the Starke County Clerk’s Office for the May Primary Municipal Election.
The final list finds two candidates filed for Knox City Mayor. Democrat Dennis Estok is seeking re-election while Kay Gudeman filed on the Republican Ticket.
Incumbent Republican Charles Hasnerl filed for another term as Knox City Court Judge, Incumbent Democrat Cyndi Mann-Kidder filed for Knox City Clerk-Treasurer, Incumbent Democrat Donald Kring filed for Knox City Council District 1, Incumbent Democrat Ronald Parker filed for Knox City Council District 2, Incumbent Democrat Jeff V. Berg filed for Knox City Council District 3, Republican Linda Van Norman filed for Knox City Council District 3, Incumbent Democrat Bill Gustafson filed for Knox City Council District 4, and Incumbent Democrat Sherry Cowen filed for Knox City Council At-Large.
Eligible voters may request an absentee ballot from the Starke County Clerk’s Office or obtain one online at www.indianavoters.in.gov. The deadline to receive an absentee ballot request is April 20, 2023 by 11:59 p.m. CT.
