Culver Town Manager Ginny Bess Munroe brought up a topic for possible council consideration in the near future.
First, she explained to the Culver Town Council at their last meeting that the Plan Commission members have made goals for this year to tackle the zoning ordinance and making some changes to the ordinance.
Meanwhile, the Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals members have been holding meetings that last longer than a couple of hours and Munroe thinks those who have been appointed to serve are deserving of a potential request.
Munroe commented, “The Plan Commission did have a discussion at their meeting and they wanted just to put the idea out for council to consider, maybe over the next month or so or maybe at budget time, they wondered if there would be interest in a stipend for people who serve on the Plan Commission and BZA.
She said many meetings runs three and four hours long and there are some employees that serve on those boards.
The council did not make any decisions during their meeting, but will likely review the request in future meetings.
