North Judson Resident Steps up to Help Another in Need

A local resident unexpectedly became a good Samaritan at the most recent North Judson Town Council meeting.

During public recognition, a family came to voice concerns to the council about a citation received.

Recently, their house burned down and they have had to relocate to a hotel until everything is resolved. They looked into all their options, but have not been able to find a temporary shelter for their family dogs. As a result, they have been housing them in their camper outside of their property, using a generator to supply power, heat and water for the dogs.

Town Marshal Kelly Fisher stated that the citations were issued for the dogs getting loose resulting in a lady being chased back to her car. Another attendant at the meeting spoke up and asked how much the ticket was for and offered to pay the $50 fine for the family.

Fisher also voiced concerns on the well-being of the dogs, how often they were being checked on and for how long they might be housed in this camper.  The family did say it could be anywhere up to three months. The good Samaritan once again spoke up and offered the family to take the dogs to his property. He had an empty building they could set up as housing for the animals and they could even erect a fence for the dogs to get exercise.

The family was overwhelmed with gratefulness and thanked this good Samaritan.
