The North Judson Town Council members met in special session Wednesday morning to approve the purchase of a new police vehicle to replace one that had been totaled in an accident.
Near the end of November, North Judson police officers were called to assist in an ongoing vehicle pursuit north of town resulting in one of their cruisers crashing.
Council member Matt Brewer made a motion to approve the purchase of a 2022 Dodge Durango at a price of $39,970. The motion was passed unanimously by all present.
Insurance has covered the damaged equipment in the wrecked vehicle, but the town will have to pay for an outside company to come in and install the new equipment inside of the Durango.
The 2022 Dodge Durango has already been purchased.
