Mint to be Free 2023! That’s the theme for the Mint Festival this year. It was chosen to celebrate the freedoms that we all have. The committee members are planning plenty of events and activities, including live bands and a fireworks display.
While planning continues, the committee is still in search of a carnival to hire. The company previously used is having trouble finding employees and there are only four amusement companies in Indiana.
One company has requested to expand the carnival area to Keller Ave. If approved, Main Street would be closed from Talmer Avenue to Lane Street for Saturday activities. There would also be a slight redirection of the parade, as it would no longer turn down Keller Avenue.
During their meeting Monday night, the North Judson Town Council voted unanimously to approve the extension of the carnival, but it is still dependent on the procurement of an amusement company.
