The Starke County Commissioners discussed their SCILL Contract during their meeting last week.
SCILL Executive Director Jim Hernandez was present and asked the commissioners for an increase in funding. It was reported, last year $69,873 was given the the SCILL center.
The SCILL Center offers Auto Technology, Building Trades, Welding Technology, and Automation Robotics and Equipment Management to students in several counties. The SCILL Center also offers Fire and Rescue courses.
The commissioners discussed continuing their funding of SCILL. A motion was made to give $70,000 per year for three years. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote. The County Council will now review the contract and decide on funding SCILL.
