There has been no further progress on the removal of the sunken diving platform at the Bass Lake Beach.
The Starke County Park Board held further discussions of the removal of the sunken diving platform during their recent meeting. The question is who is financially responsible for the removal. The State funded the installation of the platform, but is not agreeing to finance the removal of this same platform.
The board’s attorney put out options such as trying to sue the state, or fund the removal with the possibility of the state reimbursing some of the costs.
The board members are going to continue looking into options.
