The Culver Community School Board members approved a JUUL Labs settlement during their meeting this week.
Superintendent Karen Shuman said litigation has awarded the school corporation $14,633 in that the company was attempting to lure teenagers to vape with advertisements and with enticing flavors for children. Another $10,000 could be claimed as well from the parent company in a possible future disbursement of funds.
In other news, the demolition of the high school gymnasium will take place March 13 to make way for a new gym floor, ADA-compliant bleachers and railings. Shuman stated in previous meetings that the floor is anticipated to be done in order to host graduation in May.
