The Knox City Council discussed the city’s current peddler ordinance during Tuesday night’s meeting.
City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok clarified with WKVI News he had met with several food truck vendors. He added they said they would like the ordinance to have lesser restrictions.
The current peddler ordinance only allows food truck vendors one, eight-hour period in 60 days. The council discussed what they would amend to the ordinance. Mayor Estok stated the city must protect their brick and mortar stores. He added the council may consider easing the ordinance to allow food truck vendors more time than they are allowed, but are considerate of established businesses.
The council took amending the ordinance under advisement. They plan to discuss it in a future meeting.
