One person was injured in an accident that occurred Wednesday, March 8 in the 1100 East block of Culver Road in Knox.
Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith said officers arrived at the scene in the evening and found that Culver Road was blocked by a semi tractor-trailer with a Chevy truck under the rear of the trailer.
The driver, Robert Martin, was extricated from the Chevy truck and was airlifted from the scene after sustaining serious injuries, according to the report.
Police say the driver of the semi was alert and speaking with officers.
Due to the nature of the crash, the Indiana State Police was called to the scene and the investigation continues. No other information is being released at this time.
The Knox City Police Department was assisted by the Starke County 911 dispatchers, Knox-Center Township Fire Department, Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Indiana State Police, Hamlet Police Department, Starke County EMS, and Lutheran Air.
