North Judson Town Council Awards Funds to Hope Restored Recovery Home

Hope Restored Recovery Home was awarded $15,000 out of the Town of North Judson’s Opioid Relief Program at a recent North Judson Town Council meeting.

Hope Restored Recovery Center is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization in Starke County.  The organization is a faith-based recovery center that focuses on helping men who suffer from substance use disorder change their lives through structure and love. They offer a structured schedule, self-help groups, accountability and support, therapeutic programs and drug testing and monitoring.

Earlier in the year, representatives of Hope Restored attended a meeting seeking funds from the North Judson Town Council in order to purchase a new vehicle for the organization.  This vehicle would be used to transport residents of the program to meetings, doctor appointments, job interviews, and work.

The town council members asked that they be allowed some time to do some research on the funds and asked Hope Restored representatives if they would come back with a better idea of the vehicle they would like to purchase.

Since that last meeting, Hope Restored Recovery Home has gone from three tenants to nine. With three of the residents having obtained jobs in Hamlet, the need for transportation is even more essential. The organization has gotten by with people of the community volunteering to help with rides, and the organization is thankful, but something more permanent is needed.

According to the stipulations set for the Opioid Relief funds, the town council members found Hope Restored Recovery Home to be accredited for fund approval. Town Council member Josh Brown made a motion approve the request and the Council voted unanimously to pass the motion.
