The Starke County Commissioners heard an update from the highway department during their meeting Monday.
Starke County Highway Superintendent Dan Dipert told the commissioners his department currently has two openings. He added they are scheduling interviews in order to fill the positions as soon as possible.
Dipert went on to say the department is preparing for mowing season as well. He stated they will start advertising for mowing crews to take care of roadsides throughout the county and will be needing individuals to run tractors and weed eaters.
Applications may be dropped off at the Starke County Highway Department at 3835 East 250 North in Knox from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CT.
