The Turkey Tracks Hunt – Eric Corey Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization where the mission is to get all ages of handicapped or terminally ill hunters into the woods to hunt turkey, deer and other game. The Foundation provides everything needed for an entire hunting weekend in the spring of every year, excluding travel. They provide lodging and meals, firearms and crossbows, hunting guides and licenses, special attachments needed to accommodate for all disabilities and even all terrain power wheelchairs.
Turkey Tracks Hunt – Eric Corey Foundation was founded in 2009 by Eric Corey who was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. Eric was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) at the age of 15. During his time with this condition he was blessed, with the help of many other organizations, to experience once-in-a-lifetime hunts, including trips to Zimbabwe, Africa and Alaska. At the age of 19, Eric decided he wanted to give back to his community and wanted to be able to bless others as he had been blessed. What turned in to a couple of kids hanging out at the house and going hunting turned in to an organization that has helped hundreds of hunters who would not have otherwise been able to do it, get out there and shoot their first turkey, or possibly last.
The Turkey Tracks Hunt – Eric Corey Foundation has grown over the years and is now located in Starke County, Steuben County and Michigan. They also get opportunities to send hunters to Texas for hog. In 2013, they had 32 hunters registered for Starke County’s hunt, 11 for Angola and 9 in Tennessee. This year they are expecting about 20 to21 hunters for Starke County’s event.
Turkey Tracks Hunt – Eric Corey Foundation is in need of youth hunters. If you know any youth, 17 and under who face a terminal illness or handicap, and they would like to experience something like this, or if you’d like to volunteer as a hunt guide, contact them on Facebook at Turkey Tracks Hunt Eric Corey Foundation, e-mail at turkeytrackshunt09@gmail.com or by phone (574) 806-3310.
