The Knox Community School Board announced they have received several applications for the available superintendent position during their meeting Tuesday.
School Board President Kirk Bennett stated the corporation has received seven applications so far. He added three of the individuals who have applied are currently superintendents elsewhere. It was noted the deadline for applications is Monday, May 22.
During a previous meeting, the board voted unanimously to approve Ross Sloat as interim superintendent. Sloat has been conducting superintendent duties on a day-to-day basis to keep the corporation moving forward. Bennett stated the board hopes to have a new superintendent hired by July 1 of this year.
