A North Judson man was arrested Sunday, May 28 following a preliminary investigation by the Knox City Police Department.
Officers were called to Lochmandy Ford on South Heaton Street in Knox at about 8:16 a.m. CT in reference to an alarm. Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith said officers arrived at the scene and during a search they found a broken window on the south side of the building. Officers also found 45-year-old James E. Watts on the property, according to the report.
Watts was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary and theft.
The incident remains under investigation.
Formal charges will be determined by the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
