The Starke County Park Board recently received updates from the Bass Lake Trailhead Committee as to where they are as far updating the Bass Lake Beach.
On May 18, they will be attending the Starke County Council meeting to seek matching funds for the grant they need to make the $1.3 million project happen. In order to be approved for the grant, the park board must be able to commit half of the funds. The park board will be requesting $500,000 from the county in order to make the commitment.
If they are approved for the grant, it may still take up to a year to receive the funds. Further updates will be given at the next Starke County Park Board meeting.
