The Pulaski County Commissioners continued their discussions on purchasing an ambulance during their meeting Tuesday.
In a previous meeting, two bids were opened and taken under advisement. The first bid opened was from Crossroad Ambulance Sales and Service LLC in the amount of $258,967. The second and final bid came from Fire Service Inc. at $255,263.
Emergency Medical Services Director Brandon DeLorenzo told the commissioners the second company bidding offered a supplement after the bids were already opened. DeLorenzo stated he believes this defeated the purpose of sealed bids and formally recommended the commissioners approve the bid from Crossroad Ambulance Sales and Service LLC. He added while this was the more expensive bid, it did however match bid specifications perfectly.
A motion was made to approve the bid from Crossroad Ambulance Sales and Service LLC in the amount of $258,967. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
