An officer with the Knox City Police Department helped avoid a possible train/semi accident Wednesday, June 7.
The Knox City Police Department was notified of a call that a semi was stuck on the railroad tracks at Pacific Avenue. As the officer was on his way to the scene, dispatchers indicated that a train was passing through at Williams Street, a few short miles away from the area.
Officer Chad Dulin was able to quickly call railroad personnel and advise them of the situation and the train was able to stop, averting a potential accident.
The semi driver was issued an ordinance citation, according to police. Howard’s Towing was called to remove the semi without further incident.
