The Hamlet Town Council members were updated at a recent meeting that the Starke Street project has been pushed back until this week, depending on the contractor’s schedule. They will begin the process of the removal of old sidewalks and pavement, and the addition of new sidewalks, asphalt paving and seeding of the new grass.
The project is being done thanks due to an Indiana Department of Transportation Community Crossings Matching Grant.
The town council had applied for the grant in August of 2022. The project on South Starke Street will be from Pearl Street to Indiana Street.
Milestone Contractors North was awarded a bid of $70,354 for the project.
